This artwork was a collaborative group project featuring a golden retriever. Initially, it was meant to be an individual painting, but after some discussion, everyone in the class agreed to work together as a group. Our professor supported the idea, recognizing the value of teamwork in the creative process.

This experience was important because it demonstrated how art can bring people together. Collaborating on a single piece allowed us to combine our different styles, strengths, and perspectives. It also taught us how to communicate our ideas clearly, compromise when needed, and support each other creatively. In the end, the golden retriever artwork wasn't just a painting. It became a symbol of our shared effort, mutual respect, and the power of unity in artistic expression.

"Escaping through Reality" February 26 2025

Not only did the model represent the theme suggested by the title, but as a group, we also jokingly referred to this piece as our way of “escaping through reality” Honestly, we barely gave it much attention during the process, we were caught up in other deadlines and distractions, but somehow, we still managed to finish it on time.

The artwork itself was created using crumpled research papers and tissues, then sprayed with paint to achieve a textured and abstract effect. While it may have started as a low-effort piece, it ended up symbolizing more than we expected. The use of discarded materials reflects the chaos and pressure students often face, relying on scraps of time and leftover energy, yet still producing something meaningful.

This experience reminds us that not every creative process is perfect or deeply planned. Sometimes, even when we're overwhelmed or detached, collaboration and resourcefulness can lead to surprising results. It also highlights how contemporary art can capture real, raw experiences, messy, imperfect, and authentic.

Weaved Hat May 6 2025

This hat was entirely handmade using excess paper, staplers, and glue. I carefully wove strips of paper together to form the structure, securing each part with staples and adhesive. Through this project, I learned the value of patience, creativity, and resourcefulness, transforming simple, discarded materials into something functional and artistic. It also reminded me of the importance of sustainability and how innovation can arise from even the most ordinary supplies.

Beyond the hands-on skills, this project made me realize how much potential lies in materials we often throw away. It challenged me to think differently, to be more mindful of waste, and to see beauty in the overlooked.

In a world where fast fashion and constant consumption are common, this small creation stands as a personal reminder that with effort and imagination, we can make something meaningful without needing to buy more. It’s not just a hat, it’s a symbol of creative thinking, sustainability, and learning through making.
